$12.5 million critical infrastructure investment for City of Brantford

The province of Ontario is investing up to $12.5 million towards the City of Brantford, ON’s Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade to UV Disinfection & Phosphorus Removal System project.

The funding comes from the province’s Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program’s Health and Safety Water Stream (MHIP-HSWS), a City of Brantford release said.

The MHIP-HSWS funding will be used in the City of Brantford to Upgrade to UV Disinfection & Phosphorus Removal System, the release added.

“I am pleased to be part of a government that supports municipal partners such as the City of Brantford to upgrade and safeguard one of the most important things in our lives: clean water. This upgrade will not only secure clean drinking water but enable new home construction and attract even more private sector investments and new jobs in our Region,” Brantford-Brant MPP Will Bouma said.

“This investment in UV disinfection strengthens the City’s commitment to safe, sustainable water infrastructure. We are incredibly thankful for the support from the Province and MPP Will Bouma. Together, we’re protecting public health and building for the future,” City of Brantford mayor Kevin Davis added.
