World Water is happening this Sunday, March 22. Here’s a sample of a few events happening to celebrate water and draw attention to water issues across the globe.

  • Guy Laliberté’s ONE DROP Foundation has launched a brilliant new website with a stirring video upon arrival.
  • This morning, Chiefs in Ontario announced the release of the First Nations Water Declaration in Ontario. (More details to come next week.)
  • The Elmvale Foundation will be hosting a World Water Day celebration at the Community Hall in Elmvale, Ontario from 2 pm to 4 pm. with guest speaker Prof. Robert de Loë from the University of Waterloo. Dr. de Loë will present a “town hall” style public lecture on “Water: From the World to Elmvale.” (See our interview with Dr. de Loë in the features section.)
  • Maude Barlow and the Council of Canadians will be celebrating with events all over Canada.
