SUEZ announced the appointment of Yuvbir Singh as CEO of the water technologies and solutions (WTS) division. He will take up his position on April 8, 2019.
Singh is a graduate of the University of Pune with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electronics. He joined General Electric (GE) in 1995 and held various engineering, sales, and marketing roles.
Between 2004 and 2015, Singh worked for GE Water where he gained extensive knowledge of the water industry, played an integral role in a series of transformative acquisitions, and ultimately led the engineered systems team. In 2015, Singh was promoted to vice president of the global locomotive business for GE Transportation, and as the vice president of equipment in 2018.
Singh will succeed Heiner Markhoff, who has made the personal decision to step down as CEO, effective March 30, 2019. Markhoff has led the GE water and now water technologies and solutions business for 10 years. With a 25-year track record of exceptional results at GE, he is recognized as an experienced and successful executive. Markhoff has been instrumental in the integration of water technologies and solutions into SUEZ. He will continue to work with SUEZ in an advisory capacity.
“This first year of integration of Water Technologies & Solutions was successful, notably with the involvement of Heiner Markhoff,” said Jean-Louis Chaussade, chief executive officer of SUEZ. “I would like to thank him very warmly. Based on his strong experience, Yuvbir Singh will take this very promising activity for the group forward and will provide tailored solutions for industries in order to help them increase their economic and environmental performance, but also improve their brand image.”
