The board of directors for the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) has announced that Jane Pagel is its new president and CEO. Most recently a senior VP with one of Canada’s largest private consulting engineering, environmental and earth sciences companies, Pagel is an experienced and effective leader with an extensive background in both government and the private sector.

“Jane comes to us with a well earned reputation for providing the highest possible quality of service and is known for her strong leadership capability,” said Michael Garrett, chair of OCWA’s board. “She is committed, as we all are at OCWA, to continuing to provide not only safe and efficient water and wastewater services to the people of Ontario, but also the highest possible quality of service—expert, honest and transparent.”

Pagel serves on the board of Sustainable Development Technology Canada, chairing the board’s project review committee, and is a longstanding member of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council on Science and Technology. She is also a former president of Zenon Environmental Laboratories.
