The federal government has allocated over $24 million to New Brunswick as part of the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) for the first instalment of the 2024-2025 fiscal year. This investment will support critical infrastructure projects across the province, including upgrades to water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.

“Whether it’s a new fire hall, upgrades to a water treatment plant, or new amenities at a local park, investments powered by the Canada-Community Building Fund are making a positive difference in the lives of citizens across New Brunswick,” said Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Public Safety, on behalf of Minister Sean Fraser. “It’s yet another example of the collaborative approach our government will always bring to the table.”

Under the renewed CCBF agreement, New Brunswick is set to receive more than $254 million over the next five years, with $48 million dedicated to the current fiscal year. This funding aims to improve local infrastructure, supporting economic growth, environmental sustainability, and housing development.

Glen Savoie, Minister of Local Government, highlighted the importance of the CCBF in revitalizing public infrastructure, stating, “The Canada Community-Building Fund will help New Brunswick communities build and revitalize public infrastructure in keeping with priorities such as productivity and economic growth; a clean environment; strong cities and communities; and improved housing supply and affordability.”

This investment reflects the ongoing commitment of the federal government to support essential infrastructure projects, ensuring that New Brunswick’s communities are resilient and prepared for future growth.
