Acuva Technologies announced that its Strike Platform recently became the first UV-LED drinking water disinfection module platform in the world certified by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO).

The technology complies with two of the IAPMO’s standards. The first is the NSF/ANSI 55 Ultraviolet Microbiological Water Treatment Systems for Material Safety and Structural Integrity. The second is the NSF/ANSI 372 Drinking Water System Components – Lead Content Compliance.

“The Strike Platform, with its quality stainless steel build and high disinfection power, is a game-changer for many water and ice dispensing appliance OEMs who are looking to differentiate with UV-LED integration,” said Graham Duck, vice-president of engineering and product development at Acuva Technologies. “This certification offers OEMs the highest level of confidence in new UV-LED drinking water disinfection applications, as well as an opportunity for advanced applications in industries that are highly regulated or need to meet very specific disinfection requirements.”

According to Acuva, the Strike Module Platform is fully customizable to provide tailored UV-LED water purification solutions for point-of-use applications. With variable lengths and an LED-agnostic design that maximizes available LED power to desired disinfection and flow rate, Acuva’s slim and compact modules enable integration into a vast array of consumer and commercial appliances.
