About The Project
THE NEW facility will replace the municipality’s existing pond-based wastewater system with a modern mechanical treatment plant designed to operate more efficiently and meet higher environmental standards.
The new facility will include a new operations building, new headworks, primary and secondary treatment systems, UV disinfection, an effluent outfall to Presqu’ile Bay, and biosolids handling equipment. The project also includes upgrades to the existing Queen Street Pumping Station and construction of a new forcemain to carry flows to the new facility.
