Canada’s House of Commons shut down early Monday due to the loss of running water in downtown Ottawa.According to an article in the Ottawa Citizen, the temporary closure of the Lemieux Island water purification plant earlier in the morning led to the drop in water pressure. At 3:00 p.m. MPs voted to suspend the rest of the afternoon as the water problem posed a health risk to the building’s employees.
