Calgary’s Pine Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant has won CH2M HILL an ACEC Award of Excellence for the water resources category. The plant also won the Tree for Life award.
Pine Creek processes 100 million litres a day using next-generation technologies such as biological nutrient removal and ultraviolet disinfection. The plant’s sustainable features also include energy management, water reuse, and green roofs. According to the award committee, “The new plant is a shining example of preserving natural resources while establishing new effluent quality standards.”
