Kitchener, Ontario’s EMAGIN Inc. was selected as the winner of the Innovate@IWS Industrial award at the International Water Summit (IWS), which took place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from January 15–18th.

According to the competition’s host, Isle Utilities, “the competition and pavilion showcased the best of the best in the world of water technology.” In a field of dynamic technologies, EMAGIN was pleased to come out at the head of the competition.

Competing in Innovate@IWS allowed EMAGIN to showcase its ground-breaking AI technology to new market players from around the world. The diverse group of judges included leading individuals from industry, academia, regulators, and investors.

“We are very excited to have won this award! This pitch shows that the technology is being seen across a wide variety of applications and only furthers our growth prospects,” said EMAGIN CEO and co-founder Thouheed Abdul Gaffoor. “It also validated our belief that the Middle East is a market where we can successfully drive innovation with both industries and utilities. It’s exciting that our co-founders’ passion was translated to the audience in Jon’s pitch.”

Not the only winner, EMAGIN was joined by other category winners Witteveen+Bos and Hydraloop, both Dutch companies presenting innovative treatment technologies.
