Vancouver-based Nexterra Systems Corp., a supplier of biomass gasification solutions, and Austrian company ANDRITZ, working in customized plants, process technologies, and services for the hydropower, pulp and paper, metals, and other industries (solid/liquid separation, feed and biofuel), have formed an alliance to market drying solutions that are fuelled by renewable biomass energy.

ANDRITZ Separation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the ANDRITZ GROUP, is a supplier of biosolids dryers and separation equipment utilized in wastewater treatment.

Under the terms of the strategic alliance, Nexterra and ANDRITZ will jointly market a suite of biosolids drying solutions that combine certain Nexterra gasification technologies with ANDRITZ biosolids dryers. The companies hope that their solutions will enable municipal wastewater treatment facilities to reduce fuel costs, eliminate dependence on fossil fuels, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

  1. It’s good to see Canadian companies finding partners to improve their delivery of goods and services. This will help expand Nexterra’s reach to international markets as well as Canada.
