AtkinsRéalis appoints Canadian as new global market lead for water

AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company, has appointed Ian Dyck as Global Market Lead – Water to accelerate the company’s growth in this market and strengthen how it brings together its expertise to support clients in delivering complex water programs.

The appointment comes at a time of increasing global focus on water security, environmental impact and resilience, as utilities and governments invest in improving water quality and upgrading critical infrastructure.

Water is one of AtkinsRéalis’ core markets, with capabilities spanning strategic planning and advisory, design and engineering, program and project management, and long-term asset performance and optimization. The company’s global water portfolio includes major urban developments such as large-scale wastewater and capital investment programs in North America, flood resilience and water management programs across the US and Australia, and the pivotal Thames Tideway Tunnel sewer project in the UK.

The Global Market Lead role is focused on extending the reach of these capabilities and building the partnerships and delivery models needed to support clients in delivering large-scale, complex programs.

Kate Kenny, Chief Growth Officer, AtkinsRéalis, said: “AtkinsRéalis has the multi-disciplinary expertise and global reach to help clients in rapidly growing markets navigate complex environments and effectively deliver essential infrastructure.”

“Water is one of our most important growth areas, with strong momentum and increasing global demand. At a time when utilities and governments are investing to modernize aging infrastructure, improve water quality, implement digital ways of working and strengthen resilience, Ian will bring these capabilities together in a way that supports delivery at scale and builds long-term relationships with our clients. Ian will ensure we are drawing on the full strength of our global water expertise as the sector continues to see significant levels of growth, investment and ambition.”

Ian Dyck joins AtkinsRéalis from AECOM, where he led the Canadian water business for seven years, overseeing growth and business performance. Based in Calgary, Canada, he began his career in engineering design before moving into senior business leadership roles at Worley Parsons, with experience spanning major water and infrastructure programs.
