About The Project

THE ONEIDA Nation of the Thames has been under a boil water advisory since 2019. To resolve this, a $43 million project is underway to connect the community to the Lake Huron Primary Water Supply System and upgrade its distribution network.

The project involves constructing an 18-kilometer pipeline to link Oneida’s existing water system to the Lake Huron supply near Mount Brydges. Additionally, the on-reserve distribution system will be upgraded and expanded to ensure reliable access to safe drinking water and improved fire protection.
