About The Project
THE G.E. Booth (Lakeview) Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) is the largest wastewater treatment plant in the Region of Peel. The ongoing capital program of new infrastructure and retrofits are comprised of five contracts:
- Contract 1A: Primary Inlet Conduit New primary inlet conduit, miscellaneous upgrades and site preparation (completed in 2022, $28 million,)
- Contract 1B: Storage Complex Two-storey Storage Complex with a main floor warehouse and storage space and a second-floor administrative area (completed in 2022, $10 million)
- Contract 2: Demolition Demolition of existing process facilities, administrative buildings, and below-grade infrastructure to clear the site for the construction of New Plant 1 (completed in 2022, $7 million)
- Contract 3: New Plant 1 Includes a new 120 MLD conventional activated sludge liquids treatment facility complete with odorous air collection and treatment systems (ongoing, $335 million)
- Contract 4: Plant 2 and 3 Liquids Upgrades Includes Plant 3 primary clarification upgrades, new odour control systems, site wide process air blower replacements, and aeration upgrades (ongoing, $245 million).
