Terratec Environmental Ltd., a division of American Water’s market-based subsidiary, American Water Enterprises, has been awarded a contract by the Municipality of Brighton, Ontario, for the municipality’s Lagoon Clean-Out Project.

The work will take place at the Brighton Water Pollution Control Plant and consist of dredging and land applications for more than 27,000 cubic metres of biosolids. The project is scheduled to be complete in 2013.

In 2012, Terratec removed and dewatered 200 metric tons of biosolids content from a lagoon in Brighton. The company provides biosolids management, transport, and disposal services to municipal and industrial customers in Canada and is part of American Water Enterprises, the market-based subsidiary of American Water.
