The Saskatchewan Watershed Authority has launched a new Online Products Portal that allow businesses and residents to apply, receive approval and pay for a temporary water rights licence online.

“We know our new Online Products Portal will reduce costs for businesses and also help give faster decisions,” Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority Dustin Duncan said in a press release. “This online process will also improve water management by improving the collection of data on water use.”

A Temporary Water Rights Licence grants permission to use a specific volume of water for short-term use. The Online Products Portal provides an automatic assessment that considers water demand and the water source and either issues an approval immediately online, or refers the application to the appropriate regional office if a more detailed review is necessary.
