A new partnership aims to empower community members to protect local waters and encourage others in the area to get involved.

Inner Beach, a retail shop and lifestyle brand inspired by Canadian and international beach and surf culture, has partnered with the Lake Ontario Waterkeeper program. The program is the longest running initiative operated by Swim Drink Fish Canada, a non-profit organization working to connect people with water since 2001.

The partnership between Inner Beach and Lake Ontario Waterkeeper will facilitate water testing of four beaches in the Port Credit area through the Swim Drink Fish Swim Guide.

“We are grateful for Inner Beach Co.’s support. Diana Olsen and her team are helping share and protect our connections to Lake Ontario through their support of Swim Guide,” said Mark Mattson, president and waterkeeper of Swim Drink Fish.

“When I first thought about what I wanted Inner Beach to represent, I knew that prioritizing and protecting our local waters is something that we needed to be a part of,” added Diana Olsen, owner and founder of Inner Beach. “The water gives back to its community in multiple ways, and partnerships like these raise awareness and empower those in the community to get involved and understand the importance of protecting something we are so fortunate to have.”

Future initiatives and collaborations are being planned to help protect and preserve Ontario’s lakes for years to come. Through advocacy and communications tech tools, both organizations believe members of the online and local community have the power to engage enough people to protect all waters.
