Dirk Ruppert.

Dirk Ruppert, the national business development manager at KSB Canada, will be heading a new North American section of the German Water Partnership (GWP), a consortium of government agencies, scientific institutes, NGOs, and commercial enterprises active in water-related services and industries. The GWP’s new North American branch will make German engineering, know-how, and experience in the water sector available to partners across the Atlantic.

“While Canada possesses massive water resources, parts of the country still face a strong demand for drinking water purification and wastewater treatment,” said Ruppert in a KSB press release. “The GWP initiative wants to help upgrade the infrastructure in these areas with the latest technologies. I’m looking forward to working with new partners from Canada and the rest of North America.”

Today, Germany leads the world in exporting water treatment technologies, commanding 20 per cent of the market share. The new North American section of the GWP will allow the exchange of ideas, technology, and business between water sectors in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
