Planned components of the project include construction of a new Avonlough Sewage Pumping Station, reconstruction of Bridge Street West including watermain, sanitary sewers, storm sewers and roadway, intersection widening at key locations along Bridge Street West and decommissioning and diversion of flow from the existing pumping station, the release said.
The existing system does not provide sufficient capacity for planned grow, the release said, and the multi-phase project will replace aging infrastructure and significantly increase wastewater servicing capacity.
Construction for phase one is anticipated to begin in spring 2026 with completion expected by end of 2028. Future construction phasing will be required for the permanent connection to the Belleville Wastewater Treatment Plant, the release said.
