Beyond Water launches atmospheric water generation technology in U.S.

Beyond Water has launched its atmospheric water generation (AWG) technology in the United States, marking a major step for the international company’s efforts to address global water scarcity.

The June debut included the opening of what the company calls the world’s largest AWG bottling plant in Tampa, Florida. The facility showcases a scalable model for producing purified drinking water directly from air, without drawing on natural freshwater sources.

The system draws air through a filter to remove suspended particles. Clean, moisture-rich air is then passed over a cooled surface, causing water to condense. The collected water is stored, re-filtered to remove odour and taste and then mineralized. Finally, the water passes through a UV lamp to eliminate bacteria before it is ready for consumption.

Beyond Water says it has already deployed more than 300 projects worldwide and produced over 100 million litres of drinking water to date. Its AWG systems are being promoted as a sustainable alternative for industries ranging from hospitality and beverage manufacturing to oil and gas, construction and government operations.

“Water scarcity is no longer a future problem or existential threat—it is a crisis facing communities across the globe today,” said founder Roheen Berry in a statement. “Our technology represents the next evolution in clean water access for businesses and consumers alike.”

The company says its AWG systems can reduce the carbon footprint and plastics waste associated with conventional water supply, while aligning with 11 of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Beyond Water is also planning to bring the technology directly to households with a consumer-focused product expected to launch in 2026.
