About The Project
THIS PROJECT includes the expansion of the plant from continued use of the extended aeration process to the use of the Biological Nutrient Removal Process with increased capacity.
The expansion will be executed in two phases and will include a new headworks building with mechanical fine screens and vortex grit removal, BNR system for biological phosphorus removal by means of the Anaerobic/Anoxic/Oxic (A2O) process, secondary clarification, tertiary membrane filtration, an ultraviolet disinfection system and primary treatment along with sludge management. The first phase of this project, started in March, 2026 will primarily consist of new construction on the east, west and south sides of the existing plant’s structures.
