THE NORTH Toronto Treatment Plant is undergoing $25.7 million in process and electrical upgrades to improve wastewater treatment efficiencyand capacity.

Key Upgrades:

• Aeration System: Upgrading to fine bubble diffusers for better oxygen transfer.

• Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR): Enhancing nitrification using SUEZ ZeeLung technology.

• Blower System: Installing new turbo blowers for improved aeration.

• Waste Activated Sludge (WAS) Management: New pumps and direct sludge transfer to the trunk sewer.

• Electrical Upgrades: New substation and electrical houses to support modernized systems.
