Ontario’s Water Technology Acceleration Project (WaterTAP) and California’s ImagineH2O have joined forces. Both organizations specialize in the acceleration of water technology development by providing entrepreneurs with the expertise, experience, and guidance to turn their ideas into real-world resources. Based in San Francisco, ImagineH2O helps entrepreneurs turn water challenges into business opportunities. Its annual water innovation competitions provide winners with a cash prize and publicity and visibility. WaterTAP, meanwhile, provides entrepreneurs with private sector guidance and the resources necessary to allow their business to thrive.

Both parties are excited about the new arrangement. Scott Bryan, Imagine H2O’s COO, praised Ontario’s reputation in the water industry. “We’re excited to announce our first Accelerator Hub Partnership outside the United States,” he said in a press release. “Globally, Ontario is regarded as a leading hub for water innovations and we’ve excelled with support from the region’s private sector since launching our first program in 2009.”

WaterTAP Ontario CEO Brian Mergelas was equally pleased. “Partnering with ImagineH2O will help us raise the profile of our next-generation technology companies, and really showcase internationally how Ontario’s water technology sector has developed technologies, processes, and opportunities that make it the water tech hub of the Americas.”
