Upgrades to Revelstoke’s Wastewater Treatment Plant are set to begin

The City of Revelstoke is pleased to announce that MPE/Chandos Construction design-build team has been selected to complete the much-needed upgrades to the municipality’s Wastewater Treatment Plant starting July 2025.

“I am very pleased to let the community know that our Wastewater Treatment Plant project has been approved, awarded and construction has begun. The Province of British Columbia has approved the City of Revelstoke’s Liquid Waste Management Plan – the long-awaited final step enabling the City to award the project to the Canadian construction company. Chandos’ team is currently mobilizing to the site to complete upgrades to the existing wastewater treatment lagoons.

“People should have access to infrastructure that support the health and wellbeing of the community,” said Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs. “These upgrades will ensure that wastewater system meet the needs of the residents of Revelstoke. This is another way the government is working to improve the lives of British Columbians.”

The project is estimated to cost $23.6 million, of which $9.8 million is funded by a Federal and Provincial Government grant through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
